LOVELOCK |
|
The rugged surroundings provide plenty of locations for rock hounds to search for agates, opalite, petrified wood, fossils, and the
volcanic glass known as Apache Tears.
Lovelock courthouse, believed to be on of the only functioning round courthouses in the country, has just been refurbished and is beautiful.
North of the city, Rye Patch State Recreation Area offers abundant opportunities to camp, fish, swim, boat and water-ski.
Lovelock also boasts the Lovelock Cave, site of Back-Country By-Way, detailing sites on the 22 mile tour from Lovelock's Marzen House
Museum to the historic Lovelock Cave site of the discovery of 2000-year old ancient tule duck decoys, the oldest in the world.
