GOLDFIELD

This mining town was founded in 1902 when William Marsh and Harry Stimler discovered gold on the Columbia Mountain.

One can still visit many of the historical buildings built during the 1906 boom. The four story Goldfield Hotel, the Esmeralda County Courthouse, the Presbyterian Church and the Rectory house, the Chamber of Commerce, the Goldfield High School, Santa Fe Saloon, the Firehouse Museum, the Nixon Wingfield building, the John S. Cook Bank and the former Telephone and Telegraph office.
