ELKO

Elko is the site of the National Basque Festival and home of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

The sportsman will find the area an outdoor paradise with fly, lure and bait fishing available. Big game and bird hunting is also exceptional.

Elko is a natural hub for side trips to the Ruby Mountains and the Jarbidge Wilderness. The Lamoille Canyon Road, which is a Nevada Scenic Byway takes visitors into the heart of the Ruby Mountains, a wonderland of uncrowded hiking trails, mountain lakes, and spectacular vistas.

Elko has several tourism attractions and is the hub of Northeastern Nevada commerce.
